How we talk about Orbital
This is the editorial policy behind every word Orbital publishes — landing pages, docs, posts on X, and in-app copy. We keep it public so anyone can hold us to it. The principle is simple: we describe the product as it is, and the Vision as a direction.
Canonical positioning
Two lines, copy-paste ready.
Today:
Orbital is where Solana startups get discovered — verified profiles, market signals, and direct founder contact.
Direction:
Orbital is becoming the marketplace where Solana startups raise funding, find buyers, and hire.
Rule: the direction line never appears on its own. It always sits next to a today-anchor or explicit roadmap framing, so nobody mistakes the destination for the current product.
Say in present tense
These features are live. Describe them plainly, no hedging:
- Discover and showcase Solana startups
- Verified, human-reviewed listings
- Market signals
- Raising funds — as a founder-declared signal
- Open to acquisition conversations
- Direct founder contact
- Featured listings — pay in USDC to feature your startup
- Embedded wallet
- The Orbital (the 3D globe)
Say only with future framing
These are on our Roadmap, not in the product. Every mention must be wrapped in "planned", "on our roadmap", "we are building toward", or "the vision is":
- Raise funding on Orbital
- Buy or sell startups
- Acquisition listings and offers
- Deal rooms and escrow
- Investor accounts
- Intro requests
- Hiring on Orbital
Encouraged, with framing
We want to talk about where Orbital is going — in vision and roadmap contexts, these topics are encouraged. What is banned is stating any of them as a present-tense product claim.
Never say, in any tense
Hard bans
- "Instant acquisition"
- On-chain startup sales described as a current capability
- Anything implying Orbital verifies fundraising claims, holds funds in escrow, or brokers deals
- "Vetted deals" or "investment opportunities" — listings are not investment recommendations, and this wording creates legal exposure
Signal and word choices

"Raising funds" is self-declared by the founder. Orbital displays the signal; it never endorses it. Copy must not suggest otherwise.
The litmus test
Before publishing any sentence about the product, ask:
TIP
Could a user screenshot this sentence and reasonably believe they can complete that action in the app today? If yes, the feature must be live.
If a sentence fails the test, either the feature ships first or the sentence gets future framing. There is no third option.
